I would describe myself as a dynamic multidimensional surgeon in training, with tireless work ethic. I hold a special interest in surgical education, and its duality and balance with reference to clinical and theoretical acumen. Dr.Randy Lamfel, a 27 year old young, dynamic , versatile and optimistic young lady. I am a motivational speaker ,better known as Doctor Motivation , encouraging people to have a healthy work life play balance and catching the joy in the process.I am also the chairperson of Young MD Cultivate which is a mentorship program for doctors by doctors where we create a generation of doctors who are not victims of our challenging healthcare system but pioneers of its’ transformation When choosing a discipline, what I knew for sure is that I needed to spend time under theatre lights. My love for theatre and passion for women, drew me into Obstetrics and Gynaecology where I’m currently practicing as a medical officer. The rate of caesarean sections has increased significantly globally over the past few years and the improvement in skill and access to excellent surgical care has lagged behind. Joining the South African Society of Surgeons in Training will be a great platform for me to pioneer for Obstetrics and Gynaecology as a surgical discipline in SA. I believe in being the change I want to see. During my time as an executive member , I aim to assist SASSiT in expanding to include more surgical disciplines.
